Or Die Trying

But then I will win her back once again. I will lead her into the desert and speak tenderly to her there. So I bought her back. “During this time, you will not have sexual relations with anyone, not even with me.” This shows that Israel will go a long time without a king, without sacrifices, priests, or even idols. But afterward, the people will return and devote themselves to the Lord. In the last days, they will tremble in awe of the Lord and of His goodness.
Hosea 2.14, 3.2-5
Desert, where neither the idols of Egypt nor God Himself satisfies. Where what manifests in full is our own thirst, and we’re forced to deal with it in one way or another: Either reverting to our old ways of idolatry lusting after the melons and fruits of Egypt, or choosing to rather to push forward in faith that living water is out there. The cost is simple: Everything. This quest will claim your life. It should be embarked only by those who seek it with all their heart, those for whom turning back is not an option. For whom the only options are to find it, or die trying.
